From Al...

OK two things:
First, another tip from that magazine article. The myth: eat several small meals during the day instead of three meals. The fact: calories in, calories out. Whether you eat 6 small meals or 3 meals it doesn't matter. The total calories consumed and the total calories burned are all that matters. With 6 small meals you run the risk of turning them into 6 big meals and over eating. It doesn't necessarily keep your metabolism high because you're always digesting or something. They recommend you only eat when you're hungry. (When your stomach says you're hungry)
Another myth: You can spot burn - meaning you can do ab workouts and get washboard abs. Total myth. The fact: you have to do cardio to burn away the fat that sits on top of the muscle. The only way to spot weight loss is liposuction. You can do the exercises for that area to tone it up, but if it's under fat, well then.....

Second, our hot springs trip. The 13th and the 20th don't really seem to work well for anyone. Do we want to try a week night? Can everyone give me a rough calendar for the next few weeks? Or at least, your best days. We can go in the evenings maybe after dinner. I think it's open until 10pm. I'll have to double check, but we can do that. If this reward isn't a good idea, let's think of something else. We want this to be easy and fun, but if it's a bit hard, let's not do this. We can do a quickie for smoothies or Jamba Juice or something like that.

Let me know!

  1. If I remember correctly, it takes at least an hour if not two to get there. Leaving after dinner wouldn't leave much time to enjoy ourselves. Someone might want to check on that for sure. I will try and think of any other things than might be fun if the hot springs doesn't pan out.
