OK guys, fat camp starts tomorrow. Are you guys ready? This post is devoted to explaining how the week will work. I will be doing another post tonight with the specifics for Monday.
First off, tomorrow morning you will weigh yourself and record it. Do a before picture too if you want to. If you want, post it in the comments of this post. I say that because at the end of the week, we're going to do a weigh in and post percentages. Winner will get a prize. Prize to be announced at that time. If you don't want to post your weight now, no problem. This is all on the honor system. At the end, though, you'll have to post your percentage weight loss.
That's first. Now, for the: Rules. I have put all the rules for fat camp in the sidebar. They'll stay up the whole week so that you can refer to them and be reminded. Now, this is just for one week only. All the rules about no desserts, no carbs, etc. etc. All this is for one week only. At the end of the week, you can decide if you want to try another week with all the rules or with only some of the rules, or most of the rules or whatever. For this week only, follow all the rules. If there are health concerns or allergies or whatever, of course, adjust it to your needs, but follow it as best you can. It's only for one week.
Next up: Temptations. You'll receive some temptations during the week. The idea behind temptations is for you to realize you're in control of your body and your body doesn't control you. Other people around you might be eating this or that, but you don't have to. We're going to practice this week. It's going to be HARD because of our rules, but we need to practice. It's only for a week!
Now to discuss: Challenges. Each day there will be a challenge. the challenge for the day will be in the post the previous evening. You can do the challenge whenever you can during the day because I know all our schedules are different. Post your results in the comments portion of the post describing the challenge (for example: Tuesday's challenge will be in Monday night's post). There is a reward for the winner of the challenge and a disadvantage for the loser of the challenge. I put the challenge rewards and disadvantages in the sidebar of the blog for reminder.
Next up: Exercise. Each day I will post and organize exercise. It will probably be at the same time everyday (9am-ish) and will be organized in such a way that you can bring your kids. I hope all can come. It's purpose is to help motivate you, have people help you and push you further than you can push yourself. I realize everyone can't come to all of these activities, but do the exercise or something in your home when you can. Basically, it's the honor system again. The results should be seen in the percentages at the end of the week, etc. etc. In addition to the daily, together exercise, you'll have your challenge and you'll have the push-ups and stretching that you do in the rules. I'll post some other types of exercises to try out too. Feel free to exercise more than this.
Also: Last chance workout. Saturday is the last day of fat camp. Saturday morning's exercise get together is done completely on your own and is the last chance workout. You'll receive instructions on what to do. After your last chance workout you need to weigh yourself, figure out the percentage of weight loss and write up a post of the totals, your thoughts, your venting, whatever. You're welcome to post more during the week, but this is the only post required of you. Plan to celebrate Saturday night. You want to binge, go for it. You want just a small, little treat, that's great too. You want to stay firm as fast and use your celebration time as a way to adjust what you've done and creat a new schedule for you for the upcoming month, that's great too. Saturday night is for celebrating.
OK guys, that's it. This is fat camp. If you have any questions about how this is being done, just call me. I can clear up anything you don't get or understand how it works. Also, if you want to add a rule or input, just let me know. We can put it in. It's going to be a hard week, but it's only a week. It's a jumpstart. It's a competition. It's meant to help us schedule and organize ourselves so that we can accomplish the goal.
Note: Take the time today and tomorrow to organize your kids and yourself. Call family and friends and borrow strollers, bikes, bike trailers. It's only for a week. Get your tires pumped up. Get your exercise clothes cleaned, get the water bottles out. Get the carrot and celery sticks cut up. Plan a menu for the week. Identify your weaknesses and make a strategy. Get your journal out and primed so you can record your calories, your thoughts, etc. Organize yourself today for the week to come.
Check the blog daily. Each night before you go to bed for the next day's instructions. (You can check first thing in the morning if that works for you better....) Come to the organized exercise events. Do what you're able to do. Some will run, some will walk, some will bike. Whatever. Get the heart rate up.
Check the post again tonight for Monday's instructions.
